Economic Nationalism is the belief that every policy enacted by the federal government should be for the betterment of the citizens of our country. We call it Maximizing Citizenship Value.

Economic Nationalists believe in good jobs at good wages.  Good jobs at good wages come, for example, from domestic-oriented job-creators, such as manufacturing, farming, and mining.  So COAR will protect the right of Americans to earn a good living.  Furthermore, COAR believes that the public and private sectors must work together, as a transparent and accountable team, to build massive amounts of new infrastructure, and to develop new technologies to advance our national strength and economic well-being.

Most urgently, unfair multinational trade deals, burdensome regulations, and high taxes on the middle class hurt American workers, as well as our economy as a whole. We will fight for fair, bilateral trade deals, less regulation on small businesses, and lower taxes for the American people.

“Here’s the concept of Economic Nationalism: Citizenship Value. In the 1980s we had this radical bad idea of maximizing shareholder value, as if that was all that mattered,  It was a mistake, because it turned companies into shells, workers into expendables, and communities into ghost towns. Economic Nationalists have a different concept. We’re going to maximize the value of citizenship. We’re going to maximize citizenship value. If you’re an American citizen, you get a special deal. I don’t care if you’re Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, or nothing.  It doesn’t matter if you’re black, white, red, pink, green. I do not care. If you’re an American citizen, you get a better deal.” – STEPHEN K. BANNON

American Sovereignty

We believe that America is a sovereign nation, and that a sovereignty is defined by its institutions, culture and, most of all, its secure borders.  We will be vigilant against incursions on our precious sovereignty.

“As long as our government is administered for the good of the people, and is regulated by their will; as long as it secures to us the rights of persons and of property, liberty of conscience and of the press, it will be worth defending.” – ANDREW JACKSON, 7th PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

Stopping Illegal Immigration and Reforming Legal Immigration

Illegal immigration is a threat to our sovereignty and we will fight to end it, once and for all.

Beyond securing the border based upon the construction of the wall, and ending illegal immigration, Citizens of the American Republic will also seek to dramatically reshape the legal immigration system, with an eye toward using immigration to advance America’s interests—and only America’s interests.  Although President Trump is working hard to improve the situation, our current system still allows almost unfettered immigration, which drives down wages for American workers and puts our homeland security at risk.  The situation today is not acceptable: It must be improved, fast, to better serve our nation and its citizens.

“Every good citizen makes his country’s honor his own, and cherishes it not only as precious but as sacred. He is willing to risk his life in its defense and is conscious that he gains protection while he gives it.”

Economic Growth, Starting with the Middle Class

For too long, the middle class has been taken for granted—they are truly, the Forgotten Man, and the Forgotten Woman, and their children.  We believe that if the middle class is strong, America will be strong.  For too long, fat-cats have enjoyed a weird kind of socialism for the rich.  As we saw in the bipartisan Wall Street bailout of 2008, which put trillions in the pockets of big bankers and their hirelings and cronies, the status quo system is the enemy of the middle class, and its values.  At the same time, foolish welfare policies have enabled a deeply destructive culture of dependence.  We have compassion for the truly needy, but we believe that  people should see work, not welfare, as the best path.   COAR will put an end to the foolish idea that the rich and the poor should both live in taxpayer-funded socialism.

“Ever since I read the history of the South Sea bubble I have been afraid of banks.”

Energy Independence, Energy Dominance

We believe that America should be fully and completely energy independent. Indeed, it should be energy dominant.  Thanks to the genius of our fossil fuels industry—oil, gas, and coal—and its many hard-working employees, contractors, and suppliers, America is on its way to energy security, and yet we must do more.  Indeed, given the abundance of energy underneath our lands and waters—estimates run into the hundreds of trillions of dollars in latent wealth—there’s no reason why all Americans should not benefit directly from our national energy bounty, in the way that Alaskans already benefit from Alaska’s wealth.

Freedom and Constitutionalism

We believe in our unalienable rights, among them, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  We believe in the Constitution, including the Bill of Rights—all of it, including, of course, the Second Amendment.

Today, we view with alarm the increasing encroachments of the Tech Lords of Silicon Valley. who have been able to use political favoritism to gain legal and regulatory carveouts, thereby reaping billions, even trillions.  Yet as we also know, at the same time, they sought to squelch our freedom, through censorship and opaque tech tricks,  If the Tech Lords had their way, they would reduce all Americans to digital serfdom.  But we won’t let them!  We will bring Silicon Valley to heel, so that it once again plays by the same rules as the rest of us.

“The state capitalism of the big technology companies has taken away your digital rights, your data sovereignty.  People generate consumer value and intellectual property all day long, and yet the Tech Lords don’t pay you for it. They take it for free, they monetize at huge margins.  They leave you naked under their greedy gaze.  And on top of that, they take away your right to free speech!” – STEPHEN K. BANNON

The Best Deal for the American Dream

We believe in our unalienable rights, among them, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  We believe in the Constitution, including the Bill of Rights—all of it, including, of course, the Second Amendment.

Theodore Roosevelt had his Square Deal, Franklin D. Roosevelt had his New Deal, and Harry Truman had his Fair Deal.  In 2017 the Congressional Democrats released their plan for a “Better Deal,” and in its general outlines, it was at least an attempt to reclaim some of the middle that Hillary Clinton had ceded in her second doomed presidential campaign.  And yet this year, the Better Deal has been waylaid by the far left of the Democratic Party, which has lost all sight of the national interest in pursuit of unrealistic budget-busting goals, such as “Medicare For All,” and crazy nation-busting goals, such as “Abolish ICE.”  We reject these and other radical ideas as unaffordable, undesirable, un-American, or perhaps all three.

The Best Deal focuses on providing American citizens with the tools they need to build a better life for themselves, including good, no-nonsense education, world-class infrastructure, secure industries operating in a good business climate, safe streets, and clean air, water, and land.   This is how the Best Deal will create the Best America—the American Dream.

“Economic Nationalists know that trade and immigration are just two sides of the same coin.  So we will get both under control for the betterment of Americans.  And Americans will do much more than that, for themselves and for each other, because they love their country.  That’s the Best Deal.”
