Friday, an advisor to Former President Barack H. Obama was on CNN dissecting the words of Stephen K. Bannon about the midterm elections and what it means about the possible impeachment of President Donald J. Trump.
“They are worried their base will be laggard in November, which is often what happens in midterm elections to parties who have the White House,” said David Alexrod.
“You hear Steve Bannon and others pounding the impeachment drum because they want to turn this into referendums on impeachment. They believe that will get their voters to the polls,” he said to Fox News.
DEMS WANT IMPEACHMENT BUT THEY PRETEND THEY DON’T FOR MIDTERM TURNOUT:
“So it’s Republicans who want to talk about impeachment. There are no doubt people within the Democratic party — and certainly what happened with Cohen adds to this –(Say Trump) is already subject to impeachment because of his behavior in office and because of matters like this even before Mueller reports… but by and large you don’t hear Democrat (candidates) talking about impeachment. You hear Republicans talking about it as a turnout tool,” Alexrod said.
